Jeff Sutton: Complimentary Care for Concussions

In recent years, a spotlight has been placed on brain concussions due to an increasing awareness of their potentially devastating effects on long-term health. National health organizations and professional sports leagues have been granting tens of millions of dollars toward academic research in order to improve prevention, detection, and management of concussions. Of course, it isn’t only athletes who are at risk. The findings, as they continue to evolve, are a benefit to everyone who suffers the #1 most common form of traumatic brain injury. This talk will review the recommendations and tools published in the recent International Consensus Conference on Concussion in Sport, and it will be presented within a complementary health care context. Attendees will gain access to the most current information on the subject and will be guided in developing biofeedback stress and pain management programs to support a safe return to school, work, and play.
